Michael with A&A Christmas Tree Farm wants to connect with more people and help them find the perfect Iowa-raised live Christmas tree for the holidays.
I immediately thought of using a WordPress website along with a coordinated social media presence. Due to the picturesque outdoors of the farm, my first thoughts were of Facebook combined with Instagram or Pinterest.
A little bit of sharing and consistent updating and it should be easy to increase his sales this year given that he was only advertising in the local paper before.
The “work flow” couldn’t be simpler. While he is out and about, Michael snaps a few pictures of the scenery, a particular tree, perhaps a even a sunrise or sunset. These are uploaded to his preferred social media accounts and he puts out short descriptive post to the website as well.
While he’s enjoying the great outdoors, I’m setting up a Google My Business account to get him easily found via local search. Then I’ll also submit the website’s automatically generated XML sitemap to Google, Bing and Yahoo as well.
It’s standard practice for our shop to make sure the appropriate website pages and posts can be easily shared via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Linkedin, G+ and many other social media outlets.
I’ve also instructed him to make sure his family and friends know to “Like” and “Share” his posts so that we can bootstrap his social presence from nothing.
Hopefully A&A Christmas Trees follows this simple process and will see their business grow.
